The SEArica Conference on Blue Skills

The SEArica online Conference on Blue Skills, organized by the Seas, Rivers, Islands and Coastal Areas Intergroup with the support of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Region, was held online on Monday 23rd May 2022.

The SEArica conference was an opportunity to bring together representatives from EU coastal regions, stakeholders from maritime territories, EU Commission officials, Members of the EU Parliament and Young Ocean ambassadors. Participants focused on the importance of creating a competitive, resilient, and socially fair blue economy with highly qualified and skilled professionals.

The National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics - OGS, partner of the Scientific and Innovation System of Friuli Venezia Giulia - SiS FVG, attended the conference on behalf of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Autonomous Region and presented the Blue Skills Initiative, which promotes career opportunities in the marine and maritime sector through  capacity-building activities and skill development.
