European Maritime Day 2022

The 2022 edition of the European Maritime Day, the annual two-day event during which Europe’s maritime community meet to network, discuss and outline joint action on maritime affairs and sustainable blue economy,took place in Ravenna on 19 and 20 May.

The main theme of this year's event is ‘Sustainable blue economy for green recovery’ and the National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics - OGS  took part in the EU4Ocean Coalition stand with the Blue Skills - OGS Sustainable Blue Economy initiative and with the game Fish 'n Ships, the sustainable fishing game.  

OGS took part in the workshop 'Knowledge and Skills gaps in the blue sector: Towards sustainable blue growth' to talk about the blue professions of the future and the activities of Eurofleets+ and in the workshop 'Ocean observations, marine data and services for the European Green Deal'' to deepen the activities of EMODnet Chemistry. OGS ocean literacy activities were presented at the workshop 'The cities we need for the ocean we want' organized by EuroGOOS, UN Ocean Decade project 'Scientists for Ocean Literacy' and IOC-UNESCO.
